Juju Cafe & Board Games: Reviews & Ratings
Such a great spot! Wide selection of board and card games available. Super friendly staff and delicious food. Pretty affordable too. My friend and I each got a meal and a drink. We paid about $35 each total for our food, 2 hours of gameplay, and tip. Will say it can get loud with so many people eagerly playing games, but overall a really nice space and I'm already looking forward to going back.
Juju Café at Dundas St.West..is a great spot to spend quality time with friends during the winter. You can catch up over a board game for just five dollars per person for a two-hour session. It’s a nice café that serves latte, desserts, ice cream, and a few vegetarian meal options—which is great to have. We had an amazing time! Just 4 girls who don’t know any games, but we still had so much fun. The place is clean, the ambience is awesome, and it has a cool, vibrant vibe. We were four girls, and we had a blast. during Winters it’s a great spot to meet, greet and hang out. We got a cake from outside and we had it cut for extra charge with their permission.
This was my first time here and I came specifically for the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Vietnamese Bento by Nom Nom for $10. It was very delicious and looked really beautiful. I loved the colours and presentation so much! The grilled chicken was tender and juicy and all the veggies and rice were delicious. I felt like a had a really balanced, healthy meal. I could eat like this every day! My server was friendly and gave fast service. The place was surprisingly empty for 12 noon lunch time on a Wednesday. It’s a beautiful, large space mainly for playing board games. And you have to go upstairs to second floor and then to the back area to order. My only complaint was the bento deals are for takeout only. But I’m coming back for sure!
this is the best kept secret recently available as of Dec 15th. For anyone who can make a walk to this café; it's definitely worth the detour just for the bento deals alone. $10 lunch!!! Fine - if you really need more reasons.... On the first visit - I asked for recommendations and the person suggested grilled pork chop with vermicelli and then I wanted to try the roasted pork with rice (also recommended). If all you ever try is either the pork chops or roasted pork - you will never be satisfied until you can get it again. I've been salivating when I can come back and order these two options again. The fact that the bento looks exactly like the photo and so well presented just makes me hunger for it more. Portion wise - you get a bit more rice than vermicelli due to how noodles sit in a rigid form but both are cooked well, fresh, and warm. It's a hot vermicelli dish instead of a cold one. The rice is light and fluffy, nothing dry, nothing old. The pickled red onions and carrots+daikon are perfectly balanced with the fish sauce. I appreciated the extra lettuce and tomatoes but just a suggestion to maybe forgo the lettuce or put it on the side/perimeter as the bento box is so freshly prepped that it cooks the lettuce if left sitting for too long; but really it's just a garnish so can't fault them on this. Between the pork chop and roasted pork, you must try both; no questions, but if you like something a bit more flavour/seasoned, then go with the roasted pork first and come back for the others later. On the second visit I was curious how the popcorn chicken would be offered in a Vietnamese cuisine way but it's more of a safe/standard offering with a mayo-sriracha-like dipping sauce. If I'm not mistaken, they're giving both dark and white chicken pieces which is just even more incredible value (see for yourself) The shaken beef is something you must also try. It triggered childhood memories of a nanny of mine who made a similar dish and I can't be happier knowing the chefs are truly putting love and essence of home comfort in these boxes. I'll definitely come back to try the rest of the lunch menu and I encourage you to try these lunch bento as soon as you can as they have limited offerings each day. Service was prompt, and the kind staff even called me back to help take a pick up order as they were probably busy running the rest of the café.
Juju is by far my favourite board-game café in the city! The staff are kind and attentive, the space is very clean and tidy, and there’s a wide selection of games to choose from. It’s a great way to spend time with friends and have fun
This is a hidden gem of Toronto!!! I’m actually so surprise with the quality and variety of food options that pair with very good atmosphere and entertainment. Honestly a perfect spot for group of friends to hangout laughs play some games and eat really good and mind I add extremely reasonable priced food. Tho I have to say there are limited numbers of board games options as other comment have mentioned, it is still a good opportunity to learn some new games in such an intimate environment. We saw some students using the space to study and the truth is, absolutely great place to study/work also if you love the background noise or you come weekdays that there are not as much of traffic. The staff are super nice and they make sure to provide incentives such as spin the wheel to get you visit again. We won free meals for next visit so we definitely will come back again! 10/10 highly recommended to couple, friends or meet-up groups to use this awesome space to social! Lowkey glad it’s hidden because similar businesses have becoming way too crowded, this is still a very good place for weekday night fun!
The staff was friendly and the food good. Board games were fun. Tapioca was fresh! We went over by two minutes in our game and they charged us for a full extra hour(or whatever time allotment they use. My friend paid and I paid her back) so that kinda sucked. Also it's up a few flights of stairs so definitely not very accessible. Overall a positive experience. I look forward to returning one day.
Came here with friends for a Canada Day hangout, and it was the perfect indoor spot, since it was way too hot outside! We got the combo with a drink, meal, dessert, and 3 hours of game time. I was very late so I told them to started without me, if anything it’s just a few more bucks if we play over time. The space looks small from outside but is actually a decent size inside. Food was solid, dessert a bit sweet for me, but the dragon fruit mango drink was so good my friend ordered it twice! Lots of games, food, and drink options! Highly recommend for hangouts, dates, or group gatherings.
